Nobody had heard of living coral until this year when pantone announced it as their colour of the year but it is now firmly on everyone’s lips. It was a brighter and bolder choice than we have seen in the past and quite a tricky one when it comes to placing it in the house but we have come up with some handy tips on how to be trend led with living coral this year.

Adding Coral as an accent I don’t think that pantone envisage everyone painting their whole house in coral when they announced it as the winner but instead incorporating it with subtle highlights and as an accent colour. Try adding small touches to your interior with one bold statement piece like our diffuser floor lamp or the mesh table lamp. Then, tactically position other smaller items like ornaments and frames in the same pantone to bring the look together.

Add blocks of colour

We have a serious crush on the designer behind this kitchen. The choice of coral kitchen doors against stark charcoal tiles is dramatic and bold. This scheme works because it isn’t fussy or detailed and it is really very confident.

Go eclectic

The coral room is one of our favourite interiors in London. It’s eclectic feel mixes this seasons colour with Art Deco finery creating the perfect environment to sip cocktails in. Just because you may live in a period property, it doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate modern colour choices and trends. Most trends have been stolen from trends past and it is their delivery which makes them contemporary.
