Inspiration - The Coral Room.

The Coral Room is one of the best interiors in London. Its eclectic feel mixes this season’s colour with Art Deco finery creating the perfect environment to sip cocktails in.

The Coral Room is just a few steps away from the incessant bustle of Oxford Street and theatre goers and located in the famous Bloomsbury Hotel.

Designed by Martin Brudnizki, who is also responsible for the likes of Scarfes Bar, 45 Jermyn Street and Sexy Fish. The Coral Room offers an eclectic feel and mixes this season’s colour with Art Deco finery.

Brudnizki decided on the powerful coral shade for an aesthetic shock factor. Telling Vogue, “The colour provides a canvas on which to layer with mirrors and artwork. And though it’s bold and bright, the bar feels cosy and intimate,”.

Highlighting the building’s original, early 20th century design, whilst giving it a refreshing modern update, was the main aim. The listed building came with regulations of not altering, nor removing the existing, historic detailing that was found within the space. However, Brudnizki commented that in actual fact, he never wanted to conceal the exquisite features and the best way to highlight them, was to use a high gloss coral colour, which enhances the architrave and cornice detailing.

Five huge white Murano glass chandeliers hang above the marble-topped art deco-style bar, whilst the walls are adorned with artwork from sought-after designers.

You can re-create a similar look in your living room or bedroom with the glass disc ceiling light. Perfect for making a statement whilst providing an ambient glow to your room.

From the moment you walk into The Coral Room, you feel like you have stepped into a Wes Anderson film set. From the art deco inspired touches, the bright coloured walls, and alluring textures, to the leafy cigar terrace out the back.

The glamorous, yet inviting hideaway, creates a warm ambience. With plenty of velvet armchairs to sink into.

The coral walls are accented with brass, gold and Murano glass, the perfect combination for a luxurious look. Style our flower flush ceiling light in your living room for a similar feel.

The golden hues of the bar are perfectly complemented with the mixture of coral and the potted tropical plants, the space totally transforms you to a stylish oasis. Prop yourself up on the coral leather stools at the bar, to watch the lengthy cocktail list being shaken and stirred.

Since pantone announced coral as their colour of the year, it has started to be featured more frequently in people’s homes. You can either go bold like The Coral Room or use it as an accent colour. Either way, it’s perfect for injecting some vivid colour into your interior.

The Coral Room is just as, if not more impressive, in person and not only provides a place to escape and unwind but also offers copious opportunities for Instagram shots.
